General information
The keys to financial aid are planning and persistence. Understand the terms, make a calendar of deadlines, check the scholarship sites below and be sure to check the financial aid sites at the colleges to which you are applying. Many schools offer merit scholarships as well as need-based scholarships.

Financial Aid Forms

These sites will take you to the two basic forms necessary for financial aid. The FAFSA form is free; you should not pay to find, fill out, or submit this form. The CSS profile does have a fee attached, but it can be waived.

Financial Aid for Specific Students

10,000 Degrees - Resource for college counseling, financial aid counseling, and scholarships.

Salvadoran American Leadership and Educational Fund - For Latino, particularly Central American students; also open to AB540 students; will fund up to four years.

Black Excel - Links to lots of scholarships targeted at black students. - This site lists scholarship opportunities for students by ethnicity, by major, or by location.
