Girls Varsity Volleyball Celebrates Seniors and Season Opener Victory vs. Tam Hawks

Seniors Helena Curry and Alexa Garay.

The Branson girls varsity volleyball team opened the season on Wednesday, April 21 with a strong win (3-1) vs Tam High on "Senior Night," celebrating two seniors, Helena Curry and Alexa Garay. Both seniors started the game, Alexa as a back row setter and Helena as a defensive specialist. Alexa has been on the varsity volleyball team since her freshman year while Helena started contributing to the Bulls’ success her sophomore year.

In addition to the two celebrated seniors, five other varsity players returned to play for the 2021 bulls:  juniors Gia Fisher and Emma Dignan; sophomores Eva Lacy, Margaux Barber, and Anna Palfy. The Bulls are also excited to welcome four new players on varsity:  junior Amaya Knox, and freshmen Logan Tusher, Cayman Stein, and Sabrina Huang

Coach Michelle Brazil was pleasantly surprised by her team's first game experience:  "I was VERY impressed with the quality of play and teamwork in our first match, especially considering we have had very few practices and zero practices as a whole team.”

The Bulls take on San Rafael High School Bulldogs this Wednesday, April 28 at San Rafael High School.
