Strong Pitching, Offense Power Tam Over Branson

Despite an outstanding performance from the top of Branson’s lineup, who went a combined 5 for 11, the strength of Tam’s pitching and offense was too much for the Bulls, who fell 13-3 at College of Marin on April 23, 2021.

Sophomore William Ashley continued his strong offensive season by going 2 for 3, and on-base machine Noam AuYeung went 2 for 4. Each had a hit and a run scored in a three-run sixth inning, which also included a one-out RBI from senior Cade Cessna and an RBI sacrifice fly from freshman Cooper Tenney.

Junior Jaiden Arcuri started the game on the mound for Branson, giving up four earned runs over three innings and striking out two. He was followed by AuYeung (one inning), junior Brayden Mathews (two innings), and sophomore Luke Shane (one inning). Freshman Liam Parrot had a strong game behind the plate, including an assist to Mathews to end Tam’s offensive threat in the top of the sixth.

The Bulls will look to rebound next week when they face Marin Catholic for a two-game series.
