Bulls Use 3 Volley Goals to Take San Marin in 4-0 Win
Three first-half volley goals over a 7-minute span set the tone for Branson against San Marin. First, Eliana Prosnitz (Sr) sent in a corner kick that was knocked out by the keeper. Stepping up from her back position, Avery Hansen (Jr) calmly volleyed the rebound with her left foot into the upper left corner for the first goal. Moments later, Noel Namba’s (Jr) free-kick found Prosnitz unmarked at the back post. Prosnitz volleyed the ball into the corner for the second goal. Abby Dillon (Sr) then took a pass from Caitlin Evers (Jr) and rocketed a volley that shook the top post, bounced in the goal, just barely in, and spun out for the final goal of the half.
In the second half, Prosnitz found Evers at the 12-yard line. Evers used her much improved first touch to create some space in the box and easily slotted the final goal of the game. Grace Johnson (So) and Anna Lardner (So) had some good opportunities to add to the total but San Marin’s talented keeper was able to minimize the damage.
