Branson Bull Sharks Meet Novato Hornets
On Friday, March 6, Branson’s Bull Sharks swam against the Novato Hornets. Talented swimmers from both teams generated a large amount of white water throughout the dual meet. Branson swimmers claimed the top spots in three individual events: May Ling Roberts won the girls’ 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Breast (earning NCS Consideration time for both events), while Bruno Coelho dominated the boys’ 500 Free (with NCS Consideration time) and finished second in the 200 Free.
Teammate Natalia Castillo earned the second spot in the girls’ 50 Free and in the 500 Free, while a photo-finish race gave Audrey Dickinson the second place in the 100 Free. As Serafina Carlucci claimed the second position in the 100 Back where Dickinson ended third, Reese Dahlgren finished second in the 200 Free and third in the 100 Fly. A close-finish race earned Aayush Shah a third place in the boys’ 100 Breast, dropping more than 1s from his previous best time. Natalie Wendt and Charlotte Fletcher also improved their time by more than 1s in the 100 Free and in the 100 Breast, respectively.
With Purpose and Courage, the Bull Sharks rallied their efforts and all swam in relays. In the 200 Medley Relay, both the boys’ team of Coelho (back), Shah (breast), Alberto Diaz (fly), and Bennett Steifman (free), and the girls’ team of Dahlgren (back), Fletcher (breast), Castillo (fly), and Dickinson (free) earned a third position, while team of Nicole Black (back), Carly Yoon (breast), Carlucci (fly), and Helena Bates (free) finished fifth.
