Branson Boys JV Soccer Edged Out by San Rafael

Wednesday afternoon, January 29 saw the Branson Boys JV get edged out 2-1 in a tense match. The first half saw back and forth action with no real scoring chances on either side. San Rafael played a short passing game that was consistently repelled by Bransons’ tactics.

The second half started in similar style, when a San Rafael attacker took on two Branson defenders to keeper Beau Weisman’s left and was able to slide a well placed opposite corner goal in. Branson fought back with aggression and athleticism, and earned a penalty in the 65th minute that was slotted home nicely by Zach Olrich. Despite Branson’s strong pressure, San Rafael rallied for one more late goal and ended the contest with a hard fought victory.

The next game is Saturday, February 1 at San Marin.
