We are honored to announce this year’s guest presenter for our annual "Beloved Community" event Father Greg Boyle S.J., Jesuit priest, founder of Homeboy Industries, and New York Times-bestselling author. Join us for the community keynote on Tuesday, March 31 at 6 pm in the Jewett Family Theater on campus.
Fr. Boyle’s work with Homeboy Industries, the largest gang-intervention and rehabilitation program in the world, offers a powerful model of “radical kinship.” Each year, the nonprofit organization welcomes over 8,000 people through its doors seeking to transform their lives. Clients are embraced by a community of kinship and offered a variety of free services. They discover their true selves and live healthy lives, contributing to the well-being of their families and communities, and breaking the cycle of intergenerational violence.
The evening program will feature a community conversation, bringing together Branson parents, alumni parents, alumni, and members of the broader community. The discussion will focus on “Cherished Belonging,” a concept discussed in Fr. Boyle’s newest book. He will speak to his experiences with Homeboy Industries where he leads rehabilitation for high-risk youth and the formerly incarcerated.
All are welcome. Admission is free and seating is first-come, first-served but advance tickets are required.
RSVP now to secure your spot for this inspiring and important evening.
Note: The following day, Wednesday, April 1, Fr. Boyle will conduct a series of workshops and discussions for Branson students and staffulty during the school day, ensuring this powerful message of belonging and compassion is integrated deeply within our educational community. Student attendance is required.
