Branson Track & Field Athletes Compete in Meet of Champions | Addie Johnson Takes First
Cindy Bollini

Dublin High School hosted the North Coast Section (NCS) Meet of Champions this past weekend where all NCS schools competed for the final step in qualifying for the CIF State Track & Field Championships.

Four Branson athletes qualified to compete: Addie Johnson in the 800, Jaliyah Wiggins and Tara Curtin in the high jump and Will Bollini in the long jump. Congratulations to all four athletes who performed at or near their personal bests at this fierce competition!

Addie Johnson finished in 1st place in the 800M with a time of 2:16.74! With this amazing finish, Addie will represent Branson at the State Championship meet next weekend at Buchanan High School in Clovis CA.

“The California State Meet is the most competitive interscholastic track & field meet in the United States, so qualifying for this meet is quite a distinction (Meet of Champions alone is more competitive than most state championships). Addie is the first Branson athlete to win an event at MOC since 2014, and will be the first Branson athlete to compete at the state meet since 2015!!” - Coach Malik Ali

Congratulations and good luck next weekend Addie!! Go Bulls!
