Josh Myerberg

The Bulls placed 3rd in the Berean Christian tournament over the Winter Break. In the first game, the Lady Bulls cruised to an easy 69-15 win against Castlemont. Junior Isabella Arauz-Moore drove the team defensively with 4 steals and created opportunities for her teammates with her well-executed passing. Junior Jaclyn Rogers was a beast on the boards, grabbing 9 rebounds and scoring 8 points on put-backs in the paint. Freshman Avery Myerberg led all scorers with 19 points, though all 9 Bulls in uniform scored in the lopsided victory.

Game 2 was a heart-breaking loss to a solid Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep team. Despite great effort by junior Hannah Golan on the glass and senior Jaliyah Wiggins on defense, fatigue set in during the 4th quarter and the Bulls lost in the end 39-34.

The final game against host Berean Christian was a thriller from the beginning. Freshman Rosie Slayen was unstoppable on the offensive end, leading the team with 25 points. Golan matched up against Berean's 6'3" center and defended hard all afternoon, grabbing 11 rebounds and putting up 18 points, including crucial baskets late in the game to seal the victory. Arauz-Moore’s poise down the stretch led to some easy baskets for the Bulls off 5 assists. Junior Lumina Tagliaferri hit a critical 3 in the 3rd quarter helping the Bulls pull away after trailing at halftime. Branson maintained a narrow lead to the end, winning 61-57 and securing a 3rd place finish.

Hannah Golan was named First Team All-Tournament and Avery Myerberg received Second Team honors.
