The Branson Mountain Biking team closed out an impressive season at the NorCal Championships this weekend, highlighted by a standout performance from student-athlete Noa Schachter. Competing in the JV2 category at Six Sigma Ranch in Lake County, Schachter earned a first-place finish and completed the season undefeated in her division during her very first year of competitive mountain biking.

The NorCal league includes riders from across Northern California, with teams spanning from San Luis Obispo to the Oregon border. Throughout the season, Schachter consistently led the field, earning victories at races in Fort Ord, La Grange, and Novato before qualifying for the championship race at Six Sigma Ranch. At the championships, she crossed the finish line in 59:18, finishing 42 seconds ahead of the second-place rider to secure the top podium spot.

Branson’s small but dedicated mountain biking team also celebrated championship qualifications from Henry Johnson and Carson Wara. The team is coached by Shawn Nelson and Assistant Coach Tony Pound, whose leadership and enthusiasm helped guide the riders through a memorable season.
