T-shirts in honor of Kwentyn Wiggins
ALL proceeds from your t-shirt purchase will go to the Kwentyn Wiggins Scholarship Fund to support a scholarship for one student each year who could not otherwise afford to attend Branson. This student will be part of carrying forward the deep love, community pride, dedication, and intellectual growth that Kwentyn Wiggins achieved in his life. These t-shirts are meant to remind us of Kwentyn, and encourage us all to exemplify the values he stood for. We are grateful for your support.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE KWENTYN WIGGINS SCHOLARSHIP FUND!
Kwentyn Wiggins was my guy and one of my very best friends. I know a lot of people in the Marin community who felt the same way about him. He was special. I competed against him in basketball since 4th grade, and for the past 3 years we were teammates and classmates at Branson.
This past June, we tragically lost Kwentyn in a solo car accident, something we are all continuing to come to terms with. “ALL FOR YOU” is our new team motto
— everything we accomplish will be for Kwentyn. We miss his love, his talents, and the brightness he brought into the lives of everyone he knew. Those qualities are also what inspired us to make sure we’re carrying them forward.
The shirts are one way we’re doing that. All proceeds will go to our Kwentyn Wiggins Scholarship Fund. As a team, we think this is a great way to honor Kwentyn. The sale of these shirts supports a scholarship for one student each
year who could otherwise not afford to attend Branson. This student will be part of carrying forward the deep love, community pride, dedication, and intellectual growth that Kwentyn achieved in his life. They will remind us of Kwentyn, and exemplify the values he stood for.
My grandmother, Lynn Warren, did the artwork on the shirt. I designed them with help from teammates. The process of creating the shirt represents our community coming together to create something that does justice to the incredible ability Kwentyn had to bring communities together.
The day before his accident we were fortunate to play together in a summer league game. My last play with Kwentyn happened to be an alley oop dunk. We met eyes and he back cut the defender, I passed towards the rim, and he rose up and dunked it so hard. I never would have thought it was the last time we’d be on the court together. But we’re not done yet. The scholarship is our next pass. We’re passing the ball to the next deserving kid so he/she can dunk it and continue to help build the bridge that Kwentyn started.
We feel it’s imperative to carry forward the values that Kwentyn brought to this world. And I just want to say, I love you and miss you Kwentyn. Thanks for making the world a better place.
