Branson aims to be a place where our core values of courage, kindness, honor and purpose guide what we prioritize when designing and providing an education for our young people. Our beloved community, with the respect and love we have for one another, is at the center of what we most value about Branson. This approach extends to our admissions process as well.
We want to acknowledge that COVID-19 has caused innumerable challenges for many families over the last year-and-a-half. Due to the circumstances last year (and this year), Branson redesigned its admissions season and application process. Although it looks different than in past years, Branson is committed to making sure it remains student-centered throughout the season. There are many opportunities for your family to get to know our community, programs, and philosophy - everything that makes Branson special!
One change we want to bring to your attention now relates to standardized testing. Once again, Branson will not require standardized test scores as part of the application process for the 2021-2022 admissions season. We maintain a holistic approach when evaluating each applicant, and testing is merely one component of this complex process. We recognize there are ongoing challenges regarding safety and access to testing this season. Additionally, we are currently rethinking our own forms of assessment at a school-wide level. As a result, we do not feel it is equitable to require a standardized test score as part of our application; therefore, standardized test scores will not be accepted this admissions season. Choosing a high school is an exciting and challenging journey. Fortunately, you have months in front of you to explore and discover which school is the best fit. Whether through our distance learning plan or on-campus experience, Branson offers a warm, cohesive community centered on intellectual engagement and care for each individual. This has remained at the heart of our schedule redesign for fall as we follow the health requirements dictated by Marin County Public Health. We are excited that you are considering Branson as your future home and can’t wait to show you what we have to offer.
Registration for all Branson Events is required through Ravenna Hub unless stated. If you haven’t already, please create a Student Profile, find The Branson School in the School Directory, and press “Explore”. Once in our system, you will receive notifications when we plan to open up registration for different admissions events. We look forward to meeting you.
