Dear Neighbors,
We hope this email finds you well. We had a terrific first week of school at Branson last week. It was wonderful to have our students back on campus. We are writing now to inform you about a project happening on Prize Day Field (near Hillgirt).
We are in the process of installing rustic hillside seating adjacent to Prize Day Field; this will be used as a casual outdoor seating location for some of our regular educational program activities. The primary use will be student assemblies that are held 1-2 times per week, where we gather all students for announcements and other programmatic needs. We have learned during the last two years of a global pandemic that having students and employees outside as much as possible limits the spread of Covid and other illnesses. As we have been doing for the past two years, we will hold as many of our group gatherings in the fresh air with tree cover for shade.
This seating project will be built with wood and gravel and will not use any non-permeable materials and, in accordance with our CUP amendment provisions, we will not use amplified sound in this location. We anticipate it will be completed and ready for use in a couple of weeks.
Rest assured that we do not anticipate any increase in events or intensity in our educational program as a result of this project. Prize Day Field has been used continuously by Branson for decades for a variety of needs, including convocation, graduation, Holi festivals, family field days, a mobile petting zoo and, at times, sports practices.
If you have any questions or concerns about this project, please contact us at communications@branson.org.
Sincerely,
Your Friendly Neighborhood Relations Team
