August 18, 2022
Dear Neighbors,
Thank you to everyone who attended the Branson Neighborhood Group Meeting on Tuesday evening. It was great to hear your feedback, introduce you to the new transportation team members, and preview our transportation plan for the new school year. If you missed the meeting on Tuesday night, you can read the notes here.
We are writing to let you know that the school year is quickly approaching (T-minus 4 days, and counting!) until our students return to campus, and there are a few events happening to be aware of.
The 2022-23 school year begins on Monday with Freshman Orientation, then classes for all students begin on Tuesday. The school hours this year are as follows:
Mornings:
- 8:45 am start time - Monday-Friday
Afternoons:
- 3:20 pm end time - Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
- 2:20 pm end time - Wednesdays
You will see our traffic monitors out again as well as our new white and gray Branson vans shuttling our students to campus from our three satellite lots. You can also expect to see more students walking and biking to school as we continue to encourage a reduction in neighborhood traffic.
This Sunday, August 21 there is a freshman parent welcome reception in the Commons at 5 pm. Parents will park on campus and members of our campus services team will be on campus to help minimize the impact of extra traffic during this time. We have encouraged parents to carpool and use rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft whenever possible, reminded them to obey local speed limits, and asked that they not park on the streets around campus. We will be hosting similar events for our returning parents on September 6 and September 8, though for those events parents will be shuttled to campus.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we navigate the new transportation changes on campus this fall. If you have any questions, feedback, or concerns, please contact us at transportation@branson.org.
Best,
Your Friendly Neighborhood Relations Team
