Job Summary

The Director of Capital Campaign and Stewardship is a highly focused and detail-oriented advancement professional with exceptional project management skills. The Director is responsible for managing Branson’s Capital Campaign and Stewardship efforts; supporting the efforts of Branson Advancement leadership; and leading the Capital Campaign Committee, soliciting and stewarding campaign and leadership donors.

The Director of Capital Campaign and Stewardship reports to the Chief Advancement Officer. The position does not have personnel management responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, CAO, MGOs and campaign volunteers to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors to the Capital Campaign.

  • Prepare all logistics and supporting materials for campaign committee meetings.

  • Support committee members with solicitation preparation, data entry follow-up, ensuring appropriate campaign donor stewardship.

  • Prepare confidential Board and committee reports as needed, occasionally presenting to the Board of Trustees and other committees as appropriate.

  • Oversee the campaign operating plan, communications timeline, and solicitation strategy.

  • Develop and maintain prospect management system to track campaign and major gifts progress (moves management).

  • Create and distribute prospect management reports for volunteers and Branson leadership, and update documents and tracking systems.

  • Coordinate prospect research as it pertains to the Campaign.

  • Plan and execute small campaign events and work in partnership with Branson’s events team. to plan and execute large-scale campaign events including donor receptions and all-school celebrations.

  • Research, write, and produce campaign proposals to solicit support from individuals, foundations, and corporations; manage timeline for and produce required reporting for foundation and corporate gifts.

  • Manage donor recognition preferences and execute physical recognition at the end of the campaign including donor walls, named spaces, and donor reports.

  • As campaign progresses, manage a limited portfolio of major gift prospects.

  • Oversee campaign gift documentation and acknowledgement process to ensure personal, timely, and appropriate recognition of support.

  • Manage and expand donor stewardship program.

  • Other duties as needed, including general hand’s on attitude.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Five or more years of professional experience in fast-paced, detail-oriented workplace or development team with a track record of success

  • Progressively challenging fundraising experience and knowledge of the major gifts cycle (moves management)

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strategic thinker and ability to deliver

  • Ability to execute tasks independently

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience conceptualizing, writing, and coordinating advancement materials, a plus

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Superb organization and administrative skills, including working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Strong ability to juggle long-range strategic planning while prioritizing and completing multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Knowledge of The Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred

  • High level of professionalism required

  • Confidentiality and discretion required

  • Outgoing personality and positive attitude

  • Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment

  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as required
