Alumna to the Nudibranch Rescue!

Kathy Soave, Heather Duncan, and her daughters, freshmen Maddie and Isabel, went collecting specimens, using Kathy’s scientific collecting permit. They obtained a Hopkins rose nudibranch - which overnight laid eggs! Kathy searched high and low for resources to help her culture the eggs and ultimately grow the larvae into adult nudibranchs. Fortunately, in our alumni community, we have a wide number of experts, all trained and inspired by Kathy. We thank Courtney Hart ‘02 (shown with Kathy Soave) for her quick response. The eggs are doing well!
