Transportation

Buses provide daily service to the East Bay, San Francisco, and multiple destinations in Marin. The routes are available through the TripShot app, which all riders must download. Each year we review routes, stops, and costs to best serve our families. We partner with Marin Academy on our routes to provide additional pick-up and drop-off locations.

The vast majority of students carpool to Branson, and parking spots on campus and close to campus are reserved for carpools. We encourage students and families to carpool to and from campus to reduce traffic for our neighbors and model environmental sustainability. On-campus parking permits for students are issued in priority order to student carpools (and solo drivers only when space permits) and the location of spots takes into account the total mileage driven by each carpool driver.

Please note that Branson does not manage carpools but will provide family information to interested parties to connect.

Branson's fleet of white van shuttles provides students safe, easy access to campus from our off-campus parking locations. There is no cost to ride the Branson shuttle.

Branson provides a shuttle that runs between 1) the St. Anselm’s parking lot, our off-campus parking area located on the corner of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Bolinas Avenue; 2) across the street from the SMART train station; and 3) College of Marin’s Lot 9. The shuttle bus runs a continuous loop from the St. Anselm’s parking lot to campus in the mornings and one shuttle runs from our other two locations once in the morning.

After school, the shuttle bus runs a continuous loop as needed from campus to the St. Anselm’s parking lot. Branson also runs one shuttle from the College of Marin Parking Lot 9 in the morning and right after school.

SMART trains provide service from the north and the Larkspur ferry to and from the San Rafael Transit station. Branson’s bus route includes a stop at the San Rafael Transit Station in the morning and afternoon. Branson provides one morning and afternoon shuttle to and from the San Rafael Transit Station. Students may also use Golden Gate Transit (GGT) to commute to Branson. GGT provides bus service to and from the East Bay, San Francisco, and within Marin. The closest stop to Branson is at Bolinas Avenue and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. School vans shuttle students to campus from the St. Anselm’s Parking lot, right next to the GGT bus stop. Branson participates in the Marin Transit Youth Pass program, which allows Marin County students under 18 unlimited rides on local transit routes in Marin County. Students whose household incomes qualify them as low-income are eligible for free Youth Passes. Learn more about the Marin Transit Youth Pass.

Branson encourages walking, scootering, and cycling to campus. We offer incentive programs for bike purchases and Mike's Bikes provides a monthly mobile van bike service on the Branson campus. All ebike riders must adhere to current Marin County regulations, and appropriate helmets must be worn at all times.
