Getting to Branson

Branson offers transportation options which allow us to draw and serve students from many different areas. Having students with varied geographic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds adds greater perspective and value to our learning community. Families choose which transportation option works best for their needs.

Branson Bus & Van Services

Branson contracts with a bus company and runs its own vans to offer students transportation to and from the East Bay, San Francisco, and select locations in Marin. Each year we review routes, stops, and costs to best serve participants. See our IMPORTANT LINKS on the right for routes and schedules.

East Bay Van – Branson runs a passenger van to and from the East Bay. We pick up students from several stops, including the El Cerrito del Norte and El Cerrito Plaza BART stations. Click here for the East Bay Van schedule.

San Francisco Bus – Bus service from San Francisco includes a morning pickup and two afternoon returns, making several stops throughout the city. Click here for the San Francisco Bus schedule

Marin Bus Stops – The San Francisco Bus makes two pickups in the morning at various points in Marin and leaves from three different sites. Click here for the Marin Bus Stops.

Carpools

We encourage students and families to carpool to and from campus to reduce traffic for our neighbors and to model environmental sustainability. Student parking spots on campus are reserved for carpools of three or more members. Each spring, we facilitate the forming of carpools for students.

Shuttle for Off-Campus Parking

Branson provides a shuttle from the St. Anselm’s parking lot (our off-campus parking area), which is located on the corner of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and Bolinas Avenue, across the street from the Golden Gate Transit (GGT) bus stop. The shuttle bus runs a continuous loop from the St. Anselm’s parking lot to campus in the mornings.

After school, the shuttle bus runs a continuous loop as needed from campus to the St. Anselm’s parking lot. There is no cost to ride the shuttle bus.

SMART Train

SMART trains provide service from the north to and from the San Rafael Transit station. The school runs a shuttle to/from the San Rafael Transit Station for students and staff. The morning shuttle meets riders arriving in San Rafael at 8:26 am, and the afternoon shuttles leave Branson at 3:30 pm and 5:45 pm. Click here for more information on SMART trains.

Golden Gate Transit

Students may also use Golden Gate Transit (GGT) to commute to Branson. GGT provides bus service to-and-from the East Bay, San Francisco, and within Marin. The closest stop to Branson is at Bolinas Avenue and Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. School vans shuttle students to campus from the St. Anselm’s Parking lot, right next to the GGT bus stop. Click here for the GGT schedules online.

Marin Transit Youth Pass

Branson participates in the Marin Transit Youth Pass program, which allows Marin County students under 18 unlimited rides on local transit routes in Marin County. Students whose household incomes qualify them as low-income are eligible for free Youth Passes. Click here for more information on the Marin Transit Youth Pass.
