From the Head of School
We are living in extraordinary times, and Branson reflects a microcosm of what is taking place in the world outside our gates. Whether it is Covid, social unrest, climate change, wildfires, smoke, or rolling blackouts, Branson has been faced with many challenges over the last nine months.
Strong communities with common purpose and shared values do not fold when challenges like these arrive at our door. Strong communities, like ours at Branson, rise up to face them head on, working together to ensure that we continue to educate young people and live our mission.
In March, we pivoted to online learning in a matter of days and, as a school community, quickly adapted to our new normal, making the best of it. As a head of school, I never in a million years thought I would be presiding over a masked, socially distanced drive-through graduation during a global pandemic. I have been amazed at the resilience and strength of our students and faculty, who without missing a beat, found new ways to do just about everything, from online Assembly to virtual social events to FAAB, where dancers, actors, and singers put on tremendous performances from their homes in all corners of the Bay Area.
We continue to work every day to live our mission and send great human beings out into the world and we are grateful for the many ways you support our work.
Branson Head of School
We’re thrilled to unveil Branson’s new branding, including our brand new logos! Branson enters its second century during an incredibly challenging time, but equally one of hope, inspiration, and a commitment to working toward a brighter future.
After more than a year of behind-the-scenes work by students, faculty and staff, alumni, administrators, and board members, we’ve developed a brand that encourages us all to “Be Brave” in living Branson’s mission and values.
