branson

The Branson dance program is designed to give the beginning to advanced level student the opportunity to explore the physical, emotional, creative and technical aspects of dance. Our studio is a sanctuary where students develop self-confidence, self-discipline, and cultural awareness. Students are given a foundation in modern, ballet and jazz techniques. In addition to the core curriculum, students study ethnic dance, hip-hop, improvisation, composition, body conditioning, anatomy, and dance history.

All dance levels perform in the winter dance concert, Body Talk, as well as the Fine Arts at Branson (FAB) festival. Both concerts feature new work choreographed by faculty and student choreography chosen by audition. Collaboration with students of other artistic disciplines is encouraged, and the students in technical theater classes run all technical aspects.

The Branson Dance Performance Ensemble is for the advanced dancer who has an interest in extra-curricular performance opportunities on and off campus. There is an emphasis on the development of advanced performance and choreographic skills, and classes with guest choreographers.
